Riff Cannon - Mercury Mountain (2009)

Image
Been hearing lots of sweet releases in the last couple of weeks, "Phoenix", by the Boston based band "Summoner" quickly became one of the top favorites. Check 'em out here . More on that soon... So here's "Riff Cannon", The same guys behind Summoner under a different name back in '09. In case you missed it; They released one full-length album, and it's one of the most amazing trippy psychedelic/ stoner riff rock combinations out there. The CD version of this feisty gem is quite hard to find these days, here's a proper rip for your listening pleasure. Check it out! Owl is a fresh retro band hailing from Oakland, San Fransico. With a sound rooted in classic 70's heavy metal & rock, these guys pull of some impressive vintage vibes. This is the band's second release (after a dusty demo tape ), a two song 7'' featuring "Stone Loner" and "Feaster From The Stars". For fans of Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy & and everything in between. Try it! owlbrotherhood.net owlbrotherhood.bandcamp.com MP3@320Kbps Download or Download 2

Samsung GALAXY S III

Image
Throughout the eighteen-month design phase, Samsung implemented stringent security measures and design procedures to maintain secrecy of the eventual design until its launch. Designers worked on three prototypes concurrently while treating each of them as the final product. This required the duplication of effort as they had to "repeat the same process for all three types."[21][22] The prototypes, photos of which were forbidden, were locked in a separate lab accessible only by core designers, and the task of transporting them was performed by the company's employees.[23][22] Despite such security measures, specifications of one of the three units were leaked, although it differs from the eventual design.[24]

Review: Kong - Merchants Of Air (2012)

Image
Formed back in '88 & still going strong; KONG. With their experimental take on prog & spaced out rock/metal, this Amsterdam-based band has to be one of the most intense and challenging instrumental formations coming from the Netherlands. Their distinct sound is quite indescribable. But if you love a refreshing, intelligent & hard hitting musical journey, this one is for you. Think Monkey3 & Mother-Unit (ex 35007) & add a crazy unique industrial twist. Ever since picking up their previous album , Kong has always been one of my hidden favorites. Although this band made some wonderful albums in the past, I'm an absolute fan of their current, evolved sound. It's spacy, heavy, epic, refreshing, atmospheric & unique. This is the kind of instrumental music I adore. Overwhelming at first, but each listen comes with new discoveries. 2012's "Merchants Of Air" is a highly enjoyable trip in experimental & heavy instrumental music. Take this

Aleph Null - Dale EP (2012)

Image
Aleph Null is a fresh stoner/ sludge three-piece from Germany. These guys combine pounding, monolithic riffs with vocals reminiscent to Southern & modern metal. A weird but daring combination that's hit & miss. The overall sound on this EP remains absolutely massive, one of the main reasons to pay attention to this beast. Who doesn't love a heavy dose of sludged out riffage? "Dale" is a crushingly heavy EP by a band that isn't afraid of seeing things differently.
