Karma To Burn - V (2011)

Finally! The latest offering by the legends of instrumental stoner rock/ metal. Karma To Burn, a name that comes with the genre (& this blog). Kinda missed it at release since it just came out of nowhere in a really short time..

Anyhow, I've read some good reviews & bad reviews on this one. After seeing these guys perform 2 times at their comeback tour I was a little sceptical about their collaboration with Daniel Davis (Year Long Disaster), since the band (quite ironically) added vocals to their mighty instrumental sound. In the end I think this kinda broke the consistency on their fourth album. But since this marked their comeback; what the hell, I loved it anyway.

So, here is 'V'. And after a few spins this is absolutely not a bad album. But in all honesty, I must say this the most forgettable Karma To Burn record yet. There are some great moments on V, but I feel there is a lack of 'magical KTB energy' on here. This is a rather uninspired representation of a lost sound that blew our minds in the past. A quick album by a real busy band. Grab this one and decide for yourself!

For the better instrumental stoner/ metal works of 2011, I would refer to Tank 86's Rise.
