Stubb - Stubb (2012)

"Like the guitar tone the live vibe on this record is thick, this is a real band playing real songs in a basement studio with minimal overdubs. Stubb contains 8 modern salutes to the early 70s with lyrical themes covering love, loss, the open road, women and the powerful force of nature."

Stubb's s/t album has to be one of the best records I laid my ears on this year. A British band from London playing incredible 60's/ 70's inspired grooves with tons of fuzz & blues. From the wonderful vocals to the riffs & thick bassy production. These guys aren't afraid of variation & know how to make an album enjoyable from start to finish ("Cross The Bear", a surprisingly good acoustic track/ "Hard Hearted Woman" & "Galloping Horses", hot psychedelic jams). This is kick-ass rock that will make you happy, groovy & sexy. Perfect tunes to start the warm weather! Just look at that front cover...
